Trending No. 1 - Acrylic & Lucite Furnishings

When we say acrylic and Lucite furnishings are "trending" it is somewhat of a oxymoron. Because the style these furnishings seem most comfortable in is the Hollywood Regency spaces. House Beautiful calls the Hollywood Regency style "effortless elegance". And the acrylic and Lucite furnishings fit that description to a "T".

As with any style that has a description, we tend to shy away if we think one's interruption of the style doesn't fit ours. But I challenge you to remember every good movie has a superb editor. Think of it as your "movie set", your dream space in your home.

Acrylic & Lucite furnishings combine a bit of glamour and modern clean lines to any space. It is surely a look that offers the unexpected whether in a traditional, transitional, or modern room.

It provides for an uncluttered look that also has a function, even when holding our favorite reading materials, or that beautiful fabric we finally "found" for our window treatments, and it keeps a desk area looking delightfully organized.

With furnishings that relate to a style associated with Hollywood it may seem silly to think, but a good rule of thumb - don't overdo it. Feel free to add those objects of interest that tell your story, your "set" is meant to be lived in, gathered in with friends and family - to write your movie. You'll know when more is just, well more.
